Issue#25: Change your mind.
I started with stock research then to investment ideas. Then to general learnings and now I have a SaaS with 0$ revenue.
“When the facts change, I change my mind - what do you do, sir?” - John Maynard Keynes
Hi
There is no constant.
I change my mind every minute.
And yet I feel ashamed to accept the fact that what I thought was wrong.
Which leads me to getting defensive on what my mind thought a year back.
Willing to bet its not just me.
You can imagine what I am saying, can’t you?
Your brain is the most malleable object in this universe. In a single second entire universe created by your imagination can crumble. And similarly a second is enough for an entire universe to come up.
What is a single thought then?
But..
If I compare this with computer science then a concept of “context switch” comes.
Whenever you change your mind, a lot of things gets destroyed. Which is a costly affair.
So changing without a strategy will leave you.. confused.
Let’s go with an example.
Imagine that you want to build an audience for your personal brand.
You try it for few months then learn stuff. You connected with people who totally resonate with you. People in your niche.
Then you take note of the stuff which worked and didn’t work. Whether you write it or not doesn’t matter. What matters if you have realized your learnings.
So a person like me gets bored. I want to try something new. Which means I have change the context now. A costly affair.
What do I do?
I keep the learnings with me. I also keep stuff which can be valuable for me again. The writings, people and learnings you have realised.
So now when going in a new thing, like a SaaS you don’t start from zero. You know stuff. You have stuff. All you have done is changed your mind a little.
Planning to change your mind? Be sure to take the valuable stuff with you.
See you next time.
